Today I got up, went for a run on the treadmill and had a great breakfast. Then we got into the van and began our treck to Mafikeng, just a short 4 hour car ride.
We got a chance to see some beautiful country and even had an opportunity to see some African wildlife. We saw the elusive African Cow and it was a sight to behold.
Once we got settled into the hotel we took a tour of some local villages where Orchard Africa has made significant impact. At both of these sites they feed children daily (200+), provide grief counseling for children who have lost loved ones, provide medical care for HIV infected patients, and teach HIV avoidance. They are making a huge impact in these areas.
After our tour we drove though a golf community and we did see some Antelope, not quite as exciting as the cows but fun nonetheless.
Tomorrow I get to actually see the ministry in action as I will be in villages and part of a VBS in the afternoon.
